A Cozy Brewing Restaurant in Germany

Do you have memories of entering a place and a delicious and familiar smell enters your awareness? I have memories like this from my grandma’s house (she cooked really good) and THIS place.
Das Brauhaus in Hassloch, Rüsselsheim am Main
It’s a small Brewing Company with Restaurant, called “Das Brauhaus” in a little town close to the Frankfurt Airport. If you ever have the chance to come here, do so! The food is great and the beer fantastic and homemade.
There is nothing fancy about this place. Its next to the church of the little town. Having a stroll around the area which has quite some of the old houses is worth it. I remember coming here when I was a child. Its rustic, charming and the best time to visit is when the sun shines in the guestroom and lights up your beer.
My favorite food for many months was the vegetarian sandwich with black pepper waves and grilled veggies but recently I switched to the oven-potato with chicken and salad. Yes, I am one of those people who eat the same thing over and over at the restaurants they visit. The oven-potato dish is reviving a lot of memories for me. The “Quark” which is a high protein yoghurt-cheese kinda thing is a classical German thing to eat – especially with potatoes. It tastes exactly like my grandma used to make it.

One thing you need to know – and this is good advice for all german restaurants: bring cash. Lots of them do Cash only. The Brauhaus accepts the german debit card, however if you plan to use Amex or other credit cards, well they won’t accept this one.
I hope you’ll get the chance to come here, lean back, enjoy the nice atmosphere and the food, admire the huge brewing equipment and just have a good time.
